Some ThoughtsThis isn't the only time a holy war was recorded in the Bible. Remember how God instructed the Israelites to wipe out the natives only a few years prior (DT 7:1-2), and when Israel's sin becomes so bad a few centuries later, He'll have His prophet Jeremiah warn the people (JER 49:12). Remember JDG 20:10, they were just going to Gibeah to publish the perpetrators, but then their neighbors defended them (JDG 20:13-14), so the whole community was punished.
